Wouldn’t you like to spend a few days in a fabulous place situated between the sea and shops? If so nice is the right place to do it! I went there two months ago with my classmates and it was an unforgettable experience. Staying with a French host family was certainly the best way to learn French and the culture. We visited “vieux nice” a traditional area where there were lots of stalls and souvenirs.
We also visited Monaco, Cannes and some museums such as Chagal, Matisse and the Museum of contemporaney art: le Mamac.
One afternoon we went to the seaside and although it wasn’t warm, some of us decided to be brave and go for a dip in the sea. At long last, towards the end of our stay, we were able to do our shopping.
In the morning we went to school for 3.5 hours from 9 am to 12.30 pm o’clock and it was very funny because from having a laugh to singing songs we improved both our French grammar and vocabulary.
We also visited Monaco, Cannes and some museums such as Chagal, Matisse and the Museum of contemporaney art: le Mamac
Our French host families cooked real traditional French meals like daube niçoise, pan bagnat, ratatouille, salade niçoise, socca, quiche lorraine and different kinds of soups.
If you want to enjoy a few days away on a short break I’d suggest Nice as it is only few kilometers from the Italian border and very easy to reach. The only drowback is, as the French say themselves “Nice is a very expensive city”.
